Holy Family Parish in Gaza Update

The proceeds from the raffle during St. Basil's annual Fair Trade Fair go to help children at Holy Family parish in Gaza. Jeff Abood, who spoke at St. Basil in December 2023 about what was going on in Gaza, gave the following update on Holy Family parish:

On April 5, Holy Family parish and school came under evacuation orders. This is generally a prelude to the IDF bombing something. Problem is they have nowhere else to go. Below is a photo of Gaza City where they live. No aid has been allowed in for 5 weeks now. This includes food, water and fuel. On top of that, they have around 60 disabled kids they are caring for, whom they can't move. Pope Francis still calls them every night. Today the evacuation order was suspended. Imagine the stress of the uncertainty of when it will come again? Please keep them in prayer and if you have any political contacts please encourage them to work for a ceasefire.
To support the school/camp/parish - checks specifically designated for the “Holy Land Gaza” and can be made out to:
Order of the Holy Sepulchre, and sent to Anna Montes, 212 Maplewood Rd, Riverside, Illinois, 60546.

Next Meeting

Thursday May 8 at 6:30 PM in the parish office.
